Thru U Eye C

A throw-together mini exhibition I put up at the erstwhile Old Gaol backpackers on Somerset Street, Grahamstown for the National Arts Festival. It was an exhibit of a selection of my final year paintings, themed around the invasive gaze of airport security and the dark side of setting up fences between people. 

These were in the years just after '9/11' and I had taken a short tour of the USA, boarding 13 individual domestic flights. I experienced first hand the paranoia of the police state and seen how people were being 'herded' and 'processed'.
